Jillian grew up in Northwest Iowa, and while having lived in places like Southern California, upstate New York and Naples, Florida – Iowa has always been her home.

Jillian is currently working towards a Master’s degree and licensure in the Marriage and Family Therapy program through Capella University in Minnesota.  Her areas of study include solution-focused therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and meditation and mindfulness based techniques.  Jillian’s coursework and experience includes exploring partner, self, and familial relationships in depth and their effect on our mental health and well-being.

Couples’ relationships and partnerships are an area of passion for Jillian.  She believes working towards the couple’s goals with an open mind creates a comfortable space to progress together.  Working on self-esteem, personal and relationship strengths, and seeking out patterns of behavior with a focus on positive solutions can create your healthiest self and partnerships.  Navigating anxiety, depression, major life changes, stress, growth and change are amongst her strengths and areas of focus in therapy as well.

Authentic, open, accepting and compassionate are a few words to describe Jillian’s therapy style.  She doesn’t believe that one size fits all when it comes to mental health and personal or relationship struggles.  Jillian holds the belief that all individuals have different experiences to navigate, yet are deeply connected by the relationships they build in their lives.  Creating a space where her client’s voice is valued, and where they are able to share and process their experiences can be very empowering in creating meaningful changes within their lives.
