Emily holds a Master's degree in Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, and is licensed in the State of Iowa as an LMHC. She has been practicing in the field for 14 years.
She is passionate about helping individuals feel understood, supported, and empowered in their healing process. She plays a central role in our practice by leading our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program, and running our online DBT groups. She enjoys helping clients learn practical, real-life skills to better manage emotions, cope with stress, and strengthen relationships.
Emily is a therapist, but more importantly, a real person who knows what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, stuck in patterns, and tired of trying to “fix” yourself. That lived experience shapes how she shows up—She's not here as the expert with answers, but as someone who genuinely understands how hard this work can be.
Emily works with individuals who feel deeply and who are intuitive, thoughtful, and often caught in anxiety, overthinking, or relationship patterns that feel hard to shift. Her approach is both deep and practical: she and her clients look at the roots of what’s going on while also helping them respond differently in real time. While Emily draws from approaches like CBT, DBT, ACT, and somatic (nervous system) work, her focus is really on what’s happening in the moment—your emotions, your body, and the patterns that show up between us.
Emily's sessions are collaborative, grounded, and human. You don’t have to perform or get it right here. This is a space to slow down, understand yourself, and start trusting your own voice again. If you’ve been feeling like something is wrong with you, this work is about helping you experience yourself in a completely different way.
Emily provides all services via secure telehealth, offering clients flexible, convenient access to care in a comfortable and private setting.
